Fred Harvey was a businessman who established the Harvey Company in 1876. Firstly he started the railroad restaurants which eventually became a profitable chain business. When he started his business in the New Mexico at Atchison Topeka  and Santa Fe railway. Soon it became successful.His business vision gave the New Mexico a new look to the tourists.Meanwhile Mary Colter joined the Harvey company as an architect.She was both the architect and decorator for Phantom Ranch, Grand Canyon and El Navajo in Gallup, New Mexico. These creation gave a new look to New Mexico.The Gallup Harvey house was one of nicest blending of modern architecture and ancient art said by a tourist.

So it can be said that the joint venture of Harvey and Mary Colter  gave New Mexico as a image of enchanted land.
