Two right angles are complementary

Mathematics

Angles are complementary when they add up to 90 degrees. For example 60 and 30, or 45 and 45.
Angles are supplementary when they add up to 180 degrees. For example 90 and 90, or 100 and 80.

Hope that helps

Two right angles are ALWAYS supplementary. If you think about it, a right angle is 90 degrees. Supplementary is when two angles are 180 degrees. 90 and 90 make 180. However two right angles are not complementary. Complementary is when two angles combine to make a right angle. So logically, two right angles can't make a right angle. I hope this helped :)

Which value of y forms the solution of the system defined by y = 11x + 1 and 11x + 12y = 12? (Select A - D from the screenshot)
alexandr1967 [171]

Answer:

y=1

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 11x + 1

11x + 12y = 12

Take the right side of the first equation, which is 11x + 1,

since y equals it, put it in parentheses like this (11x + 1)

and put it in place of y in the second equation.

The second equation is

11x + 12y = 12

Take out the y and put in (11x + 1) in place of the y:

11x + 12(11x + 1) = 12

Remove the parentheses by using the distributive principle:

11x + 132x + 12 = 12

Combine like terms on the left

143x + 12 = 12

Subtract 12 from both sides

143x = 0

Divide both sides by 143

x = 0

Now go back and get the very first equation:

y = 11x + 1

And substitute (0) for x:

y = 11(0) + 1

y = 0 + 1

y = 1

Explain this to me please.
Margarita [4]

Answer:

f(x + 3) = x² + 3x - 2

General Formulas and Concepts:

  • Order of Operations: BPEMDAS
  • Expand by FOIL (First Outside Inside Last)

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Define

f(x) = x² - 3x - 2

f(x + 3) is x = x + 3

Step 2: Find

  1. Substitute:                              f(x + 3) = (x + 3)² - 3(x + 3) - 2
  2. Expand by FOILing:               f(x + 3) = x² + 6x + 9 - 3(x + 3) - 2
  3. Distribute 3:                            f(x + 3) = x² + 6x + 9 - 3x - 9 - 2
  4. Combine like terms:               f(x + 3) = x² + 3x - 2

An expression is given (3^2)^3•3^6/3^4 the rest of the question is in the picture
timama [110]

Answer:

3⁷

Step-by-step explanation:

it's kinda messy but my step by step is in the picture. practically when you "multiply" an exponent (as long as they have the same base number) with another like 3⁴×3⁵ or (3⁴)⁵ you add the exponents together so you'd get 3⁴×3⁵=3⁹

when dividing an exponent by another exponent (with again, the same base number) you subtract the exponents like this: 3⁶÷3² or 3⁶/3² would equal 3⁴
