Analytical Cubism is distinct by the overlapping flat planes that draw attention to the flatness of the canvas. Though, there are a few other key traits as well. For one, the image tends to be densest at the center of the canvas where the angles and planes converge. While Synthetic Cubism focuses instead of brighter colors, lighter lines and much simpler shapes unlike analytical cubism that is much complicated.

Cubism is an art form that focuses on geometric shapes in art. However, there are two different strands within Cubism, which follow a different style and aesthetic.

Analytical Cubism employs few colors in order to create minimal shading, contrast or highlights. This allowed them to emphasize the flatness of the canvas and the shapes of the art depicted. Moreover, these figures tended to be densest at the center of the canvas.

On the other hand, Synthetic Cubism was less dense and less complicated. Instead, it focused on simpler shapes and lighter lines. Moreover, the use of color changed as well, as Synthetic Cubism employed brighter colors.
