First, take two points from the graph. Call these points (a, b) and (c, d).

Next, find the slope. You can find this by doing (b-d)/(a-c).

Call the slope m. You will need this later.

Make an equation in slope intercept form (y = mx + b).

Now, take one of the points, and plug it into the equation.

mx + b has the same m as the slope.

From here, you can figure out b (the y-intercept).

To make a system, you do the same thing, but find where it is greater and lower.

Step-by-step explanation:

You need to know how to write a linear equation from its graph.

A graphed system of linear inequalities will have 2 lines. Each line may be solid or dashed. In addition, there is shading on one side of each line.

For each line, do this:

First, find the equation of the line.

Second, if the line is solid, you will use >= or <= instead of the equal sign. If a line is dashed, you will use < or > instead of the equal sign.

To find out whether the sign is greater than or less than, guess one of the two signs. Then test a point on the shaded side. If the point works in the inequality, you guessed correctly. If it does not work, reverse the symbol.

Do this for each inequality.

For every $3.00 donated to a certain charity by Club A, $1.25 was donated by Club B. If the combined total amount donated to the
AleksandrR [38]

Answer:

D, $18,000.00

Step-by-step explanation:

Club A

$3 x is donated where x is the number of donations

Club B

$1.25x  is donated where x is the number of donations

The total of donations is 25500.00

Add the donations  times the dollar amount  for Club A and Club B and you get the total amount donated

$3x +$1.25x = 25500.00

Combine like terms

4.25x = 25500.00

Divide by 4.25 on each side

4.25/4.25x = 25500.00/4.25

x =6000

There were 6000 donations

We want to find Club A donation amount

$3 x is the amount donated

3*6000 = 18000

A small theater can seat 600 people. The number of rows in 10 less than the number of seats in each row. How many seats are in e
Kisachek [45]

Answer:

30 seats

Step-by-step explanation:

To answer this question, we will be assigning values for both rows and seats.

R = Rows

S = Seats

Remember that rs = 600

r = s - 10, plug this equation into rs = 600, and factor it:

s(s-10) = 600

s^2-10s-600 = 0

(x-30)(x+20) = 0

There are 30 seats in the row. To determine which one is your answer, your answer MUST be positive because it is impossible to have negative seats. (x-30) is 30, which is the positive value found when factoring.
