How many tenths are there in 4/5

Mathematics

What we have to solve is:

\frac{4}{5} = \frac{x}{10}

we should multiply both sides by10, to get the "x" by itself:

\frac{4*10}{5} = \frac{x}

\frac{4*2}{1} = \frac{x}

8 = \frac{x}
 so there are 8 tenths in this number!

So first you would divide 1950/6 to find the amount for one year of their age.
Then you would multiply that by the ages, which should get you 4 numbers, then you all those numbers together. Try 9750.

aliina [53]

The graph shows the height h, in feet, of s football at time t, in seconds, from the moment it was kicked at ground level.

We are supposed to find the average rate of change in height from t=1.5 seconds to t=1.75 seconds.

Average rate of change in height=\frac{\text{Change in Height}}{\text{Time taken}}\\

As we can see from the the change in distance for the time interval 1.5 second to 1.75 second=12-7=5

and time=1.75-1.5=0.25

Average rate of change in height=\frac{5}{0.25}\\=20ft/sec

Hence Required Rate of change is -20 ft/sec, because its falling(In the direction of negative y-aixs)

What is the solution to the following system of linear equations?
OverLord2011 [107]
There are two ways to solve system of equations.

1) substitution method

2) elimination method

4x - y = -6

x - 2y = -5

For thus problem, i'll be using the substitute method.

So, using the equation x - 2y = -5:

Solve for "x" by adding 2y to both sides of the equation.

x = 2y - 5

Now we know what "x" is, we can substitute it in the other equation.

4x - y = -6

4(2y - 5) - y = -6

8y - 20 - y = -6

7y - 20 = -6

7y = 14

y = 2

We now know the numerical value of y. So, all we have to do is plug in y into either system of equation to solve for the numerical value of x.

4x - 2 = -6 x - 2y = -5

4x = -4 x - 2(2) = -5

x = -1 x - 4 = -5

x = -1

The solution is (-1, 2) where x equals -1 and y equals 2.
