P = 2l + 2w
l = 2w

48 = 2(2w) + 2w
48 = 4w + 2w
48 = 6w
8 = w

l = 2w
l = 2(8)
l = 16

48 = 2(16) + 2(8)
48 = 32 + 16
48 = 48

Answer:
length = 16
width = 8

L = 2w
perimeter = 2l + 2w
P = 48
Plug in all the given
48 = 2(2w) + 2w
combine like terms
48 = 4w + 2w
48 = 6w
divide both sides by 6
8 = w
The width is 8

l = 2w
l = 2(8)
l = 16
The length is 16

Hope this helps

Movie Ticket Sales : 6x + 9y = 1,500 Which graph shows this relationship?
sukhopar [10]
Ok so we have movie ticket sales and we have 6x+9y=1,500. So for types of graphs, we have linear, exponential, quadratic, and those are the basic types of graphs. Now looking at the equation, we can quickly see that the answer is linear because, looking at the constant, 1500 and the other numbers, we can see the graph will be increasing linear. Hope this helped, feel free to ask questions if you have any!

What is 1/2 + 1/6, please explain, I'm very bad at math
Masja [62]

Answer:

Before adding, we need to make sure the denominators are the same. We can do so by multiplying the fraction by a common multiple. In this case, 3 is a multiple of 6, so we can change 1/2 to 3/6. 3/6 is still equal to 1/2, so nothing changes.

Now we have 3/6+1/6, which is 4/6 (add the numerator).

4/6 can be simplified to 2/3 and 2 is a multiple of 4 and 6.

So, therefore, the answer is 2/3.

How do you the equation of the line that passes through x-intercept (–8, 0) and undefined slope?
kifflom [539]
If the slope is undefined, then your line is a vertical line since vertical lines can have no slope (they don't have any lateral movement). Because it must pass through (- 8, 0), x must = - 8.

Your equation is x = - 8

Look at this system of equations.
2x +5 =9.5
3x + 5y =10.5
What is the value of x+y
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

x = 2.25 y = 0.75

Step-by-step explanation:

2x = 9.5- 5

2x = 4.5

x = 4.5 ÷ 2

x = 2.25

know we now what is x so in the second one we evaluate x

3(2.25) + 5y = 10.5

6.75 + 5y = 10.5

5y = 10.5- 6.75

5y = 3.75

y = 3.75 ÷ 5

y = 0.75

that's it !

if you want to check your answer you can evaluate x and y so it will be like

2×2.25 + 5

= 4.5 + 5 = 9.5

and

3× 2.25 +5×0.75

= 6.75 + 3.75 = 10.5
