Douglass has feelings towards slavery based on experience because of what he had been through, his feelings have a spark of emotion to the hatred of slavery and all of it's wrongs. He stands up for what he thinks is right, which is a great trait, and he really shows his emotion for the horrible feelings he has for slavery.
