Equality of opportunity is understood as the right of all members of a society to access the same type and level of services, benefits and rights, without any distinction and independent of any personal condition. Thus, by establishing that "all men are created equal", the Declaration of Independence of the United States focuses on such equality, with the aim that all men can access the same possibilities and opportunities without differences of any kind.
