Answer:

The Old Three Hundred were the 297 grantees, made up of families and some partnerships of unmarried men, who purchased 307 parcels of land from Stephen Fuller Austin and established a colony that encompassed an area that ran from the Gulf of Mexico on the south, to near present-day Jones Creek in Brazoria County, Brenham in Washington County, Navasota in Grimes County, and La Grange in Fayette County. Moses Austin was the original empresario of the Old Three Hundred and was succeeded by his son, Stephen F. Austin, after his untimely death.

Answer:

The title Old 300 refers to the settlers who received land grants as part of Stephen F. Austin's first colonial contract in Mexican Texas. These families had come from the Trans-Appalachian South and were virtually all of British ancestry, many of whom already had substantial means before their arrival.

Answer:

Protect rights of African-Americans.

Explanation:

The 13th, 14th and 15th amendments to the Constitution, jointly known as the Reconstruction Amendments, were additions to the Constitution between 1865 and 1870, which sought to give rights to those individuals who did not already have them before the Civil War, focusing specially on African Americans. So, these amendments prohibited slavery, defined the acquisition of U.S. citizenship, and gave all men, regardless of color or background, the right to vote in elections.
