On a breezy day, Bonnie pedaled her human-powered aircraft 100 100 meters in 15 15 seconds going into the wind, and she made the

return trip in 10 10 seconds with the wind. What were the speed of the wind and Bonnie's speed in still air? Use x x for the speed of the airplane in still air and y y for the speed of the wind

Against the wind 100 m 15 sec = 6.67 mtrs / sec
With the wind 100 m 10 sec = 10 mtrs / sec
psa means plane velocity in still air
ws means wind speed
psa -ws = 6.67
psa + ws = 10

Adding both equations we get:
2 * psa = 16.67
psa = 8.34 meters per second
Since psa + ws = 10 and psa = 8.34 then wind speed = 1.66 meters per second

Camila is working part time earning $925 gross income per month. If Camila has 30.6% in tax deductions, what is her NET Income ?
sukhopar [10]
You take the gross income and multiply the tax deductions.
925*30.6%=283.05
So get her gross income and deduct the tax deductions: 925-283.05= $641.95

a silo is shaped like a cylinderwith a cone on top. the radii of the bases of the cylinder and cone are both equal to 8 feet. th
Ymorist [56]

Answer:

5430.85 square feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Height of the cylindrical part of the cilo   = 25 feet

radius of the base cylindrical part of cilo = 8 feet

Now volume of cylindrical part of cilo =\pi r^{2} h

Volume of cylindrical part of cilo = \pi(8^{2})25 = 1600\pi square feet

Now,

Height of the conical part of cilo = 6 feet

Radius of the conical part of cilo = 8 feet

Volume of the conical  part of cilo = \frac{1}{3}\pi (8^{2})6= 128\pi square feet

Volume of the entire cilo = 1600\pi + 128\pi = 1728\pi

since \pi =\frac{22}{7} therefore,

volume of entire cilo =   \frac{22}{7} (1728)= 5430.85

Solve by the addition method. (If the solution is inconsistent, enter INCONSISTENT. If the equations are dependent, give the ans
Airida [17]

Answer:

consistent and dependent:  x: -4 +2y

Step-by-step explanation:

 x – 2y = −4

–2x + 4y = 8

Multiply the first equation by 2

2(x – 2y = −4 )

2x -4y = -8

Add this to the second equation

2x – 4y = −8

–2x + 4y = 8

----------------------

0    = 0

This is always true

There are infinite solutions.  They equations are consistent and dependent

x= -4+2y
