Alisha hiked a trail that was 9/10 mile and Joseph hiked a trail that was 5/10 mile. How much farther did Alisha hike than Josep
Elenna [48]

Answer:

4/10 or 2/5 of a mile more.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the denominators are the same, all you have to do is subtract the numerators.

9-5=10.

Therefore, Alisha hiked 2/5 of a mile further than Joseph.

43. Simplify (k – 5) - (k2 + 8).
lesantik [10]

Answer:

(D) -k2 + k - 13

Step-by-step explanation:

Pulling out like terms :

2.1     Pull out like factors :

  -k2 + k - 13  =   -1 • (k2 - k + 13)

Trying to factor by splitting the middle term

2.2     Factoring  k2 - k + 13

The first term is,  k2  its coefficient is  1 .

The middle term is,  -k  its coefficient is  -1 .

The last term, "the constant", is  +13

Step-1 : Multiply the coefficient of the first term by the constant   1 • 13 = 13

Step-2 : Find two factors of  13  whose sum equals the coefficient of the middle term, which is   -1 .

     -13    +    -1    =    -14

     -1    +    -13    =    -14

     1    +    13    =    14

     13    +    1    =    14

Observation : No two such factors can be found !!

Conclusion : Trinomial can not be factored

Final result :

 -k2 + k - 13

The difference between an open circle and a closed circle on a graph of an inequality.
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

A closed circle means that value is included, and an open circle means that value is excluded.

x ≤ 3 ------ Graphed with a closed circle, everything less than and including 3

Please answer this correctly
Andrej [43]
I believe the answer is 120. 3 5/6 turns into 3.833 when turned into a decimal. 3.833 would round up to 4 which is the nearest whole number. 34 3/7 would turn into 34.4285 as a decimal which turns into 30 when rounded to the nearest ten.

What is the relationship between the ratios? 16/72 and 8/32 Drag and drop to complete the statement. The ratios are . proportion
Yuki888 [10]
These ratios are not proportional.

Explanation:

If the ratio 8:32 were simplified, it would equal 1:4 because they can both be divided by 8. But since 16 x 4 does not equal 72, they cannot be divided by 4 to make a simplified ratio such as the first example.

Hope I helped, and good luck!
