Answer:

The mass of water is 2.95 grams

Explanation:

<u>Step 1:</u> Data given

volume of the flask = 3.00 L

pressure = 2.00 atm

Temperature = 298 K

<u>Step 2:</u> The balanced equation

2 H2O → 2 H2 + O2

For 2 moles of H2O, there are produce 2 moles of H2 and 1 mole of O2 produced ( total moles of gas = 3)

<u>Step 3:</u> Calculate moles of gas

PV = nRT

n = PV / RT = (2.00 atm) * (3.00 L) / ((0.08206 L atm/K mol) * (298 K))

n =0.2454 mol gases

<u>Step 4: </u>Calculate mass of H2O

Mass of H2O = (0.2454 mol gases) * (2 mol H2O / 3 mol gases) * (18.02 g H2O/mol)

Mass of H2O = 2.948 g H2O

The mass of water is 2.95 grams

How to set up the rate expressions for the following mechanism?
Anestetic [448]

Answer:

Explanation:

From the given information:

A → B k₁

B → A k₂

B + C → D k₃

The rate law = \dfrac{d[D]}{dt}=k_3[B][C] --- (1)

\dfrac{d[B]}{dt}=k[A] -k_2[B] -k_3[B][C]

Using steady-state approximation;

\dfrac{d[B]}{dt}=0

k_1[A]-k_2[B]-k_3[B][C] = 0

[B] = \dfrac{k_1[A]}{k_2+k_3[C]}

From equation (1), we have:

\mathbf{\dfrac{d[D]}{dt}= \dfrac{k_3k_1[A][C]}{k_2+k_3[C]}}

when the pressure is high;

k₂ << k₃[C]

\dfrac{d[D]}{dt} = \dfrac{k_3k_1[A][C]}{k_3[C]}= k_1A \ \  \text{first order}

k₂ >> k₃[C]

\dfrac{d[D]}{dt} = \dfrac{k_3k_1[A][C]}{k_2}= \dfrac{k_1k_3}{k_2}[A][C] \ \  \text{second order}

Find the number of moles of water that can be formed if you have 154 mol of hydrogen gas and 72 mol of oxygen gas.
9966 [12]

Answer:

77

Explanation:

H2O needs 2 hydrogens and you have 154 so 154/2 is 77

thats the most you can do
