In 1999, Tori Murden became the first woman yo row across the atlantic ocean. She rowed a total of 3333 miles during her crossin

g. The distance "d" rowed (in miles) can be modeled by d=41t where "t" represents the time rowed (in days) at an average of 41 miles per day. What is the function in slope-intercept formula?

All that long explanation says is that she travels 3,333 miles at a rate of 41 miles per day. Put this information on a graph.

<span>Before you can successfully start a graph, you need to guess how to divide up the units on each axis. </span>

<span>If the x axis is time (which is always is) and the units are days, you have to estimate how many days to show on there. (That's what they call estimating the domain). On the Y axis is distance. Not too hard to estimate that because when she's rowed 3,333 miles, she'll hit land. She' probably stop at that point.

</span><span>Now, just plot points using the formula given. After one day, 41 miles; two days 82 miles, etc. </span>

Verizon [17]

A= 1.142 m/hr

Width of beach at 8 p.m. = 36 m

Width of beach at 3 a.m. = (36-8) m =28 m

Average change in width(A) = change in width (Width of beach at 8 p.m.-Width of beach at 3 a.m.0/ time in hours

A= ( 36-28)/ 7

A= 8/7 m/hr

A = 1.142 m /hr

at the northgate fabric store, there are 5 scrap pieces of cloth. their lengths are 1/2 yrd, 3/10 tard, 5/6 yard, 1/3 yard, and
9966 [12]
Answer: 71/30 or 2 and 11/30 yards

Work:
You need to add each fraction together in order to find the total amount of fabric. You should do this by finding common denominators (the number on the bottom of the fraction) and then combining fractions.
Since the order of adding doesn't matter, you should combine the fractions that are the easiest first. Start with adding 1/2 and 1/3. The common denominator is 6, since that is the LCM of 2 and 3. The fractions then become 3/6 and 2/6 which combine into 5/6. It is then easy to add the other 5/6 of a yard from the question to the 5/6 you have just found into 10/6.
Then come over to the 3/10 and 2/5 yard pieces which can be easily added together using 10 as the common denominator. These two fractions added together become 7/10.
The final step is to add the 7/10 plus the 10/6. The common denominator is 30, as it is the LCM of 10 and 6. The new fractions become 21/30 plus 50/30 which equals 71/30.

The function f(x) = 5One-fifth is reflected over the y-axis. Which equations represent the reflected function? Select two option
postnew [5]

Answer:

The equations that represent the reflected function are

f(x)=5(\frac{1}{5})^{-x}

f(x)=5(5)^{x}

Step-by-step explanation:

The correct question in the attached figure

we have the function

f(x)=5(\frac{1}{5})^{x}

we know that

A reflection across the y-axis interchanges positive x-values with negative x-values, swapping x and −x.

therefore

f(−x) = f(x).

The reflection of the given function across the y-axis will be equal to

(Remember interchanges positive x-values with negative  x-values)

f(x)=5(\frac{1}{5})^{-x}

An equivalent form will be

f(x)=5(\frac{1}{5})^{(-1)(x)}=5[(\frac{1}{5})^{-1})]^{x}=5(5)^{x}

therefore

The equations that represent the reflected function are

f(x)=5(\frac{1}{5})^{-x}

f(x)=5(5)^{x}

The slope of the line is “rise over run.” That’s the vertical change between the two points (the difference in the y-coordinates) divided by the horizontal change over the same segment (the difference in the x-coordinates).
