"Exhalation" is classified under science fiction genre. It was created by Ted Chiang and was first made public in 2008. It has also won the famous “Hugo Award” in the year 2009.

The story is presented as a scientific journal. It deals with a scientist who is a part of a unique civilization of mechanical creatures. The writer illustrates their survival through adaptable lungs that function through the compressed air from the underground.
