History

Mother countries, expression coined in the USA from the early European settlers to refer their native land or the land of their ancestors from which the people of a colony was derived, had a global expansion between the 1760s and the 1870s because of several reasons. Among the reasons that allowed mother countries being able to expand into foreign lands highlights their superior technology and medical knowledge.

Their medical knowledge helped Europeans to survive tropical diseases and allowed them to penetrate the insides of Africa and Asia, which were mosquito-infested. On the other hand, their superior technology in terms of their steamboats and the telegraph enabled these countries to increase their mobility and to quickly respond to situations that could threaten their dominance.

How are officials elected or appointed?
hpw do people exercise power?
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer:

In most democratic systems, as is the case in the United States of America, government officials are elected through suffrage, that is, through a vote in which the citizenry participates, whether compulsory or optional. Thus, the officers who access their positions are those who have been the most voted by the public.

In turn, citizens exercise their power precisely through voting, which is ultimately a manifestation of will regarding the political future of the nation.

What were three causes of the American Revolution?
kipiarov [429]
I'm pretty sure three of the causes were C, taxes, B, distance, and D, land. The colonists didn't like "taxation without representation" and also didn't like that a tiny island across the ocean was regulating their tea prices, among other things. I'm not entirely sure about D, but it is the one that makes the most sense.

At “show” trials during the Great Purge, suspects often confessed to crimes they could not have possibly committed. admitted to
aleksley [76]
The answer that best completes the statement above is the first option. During the Great Purge at "Show" Trials, the suspects are often asked to admit to crimes which they could not have possibly done. When we say show trial, this is the kind of judgment done wherein it is influenced by the opinion of the public rather than giving justice itself.
