By reducing government bureaucracy, simplifying and limiting taxes, he helped improved the lives of most citizens; this made him earned the name of Suleyman the Lawgiver. Suleyman's most important thing he did for the Ottoman Empire was that he conquered the important European city of Belgrade, captured Tripoli, and managed to control the trade roots from the interior of North Africa.
