Second Great Awakening
The Second Great Awakening was a Protestant religious revival movement during the early 19th century in the United States. The movement began around 1790, gained momentum by 1800 and, after 1820, membership rose rapidly among Baptist and Methodist congregations whose preachers led the movement. It was past its peak by the late 1850s.
Booker T. Washington is known as a massive supporter of White Segregationists

In one of his speech, He stated that social interactions between the whites and the blacks should be "as separate as the fingers". Many white segregationists found acceptance in Washington's speech and appointed him to be their role model.
Americans where able to see all of the war. Every day they’d turn on the T.V and they’d see the blood bath, which you can connect to Anti War movements later on.
When it came to foreigners, the dynasties had the policy that they could only trade at canton with the supervision of imperial officials. Once each year's trading season was over, they had to leave. Beyond that, I'm not sure.
