Since 18 kilograms are 18000 grams, you have

\dfrac{18000}{30} = 600

and

\dfrac{800}{30} = 26.\overline{6}

So, with 18 kilograms of salt the baker can make exactly 600 batches with no leftovers, while with 800 grams of salt the baker can make 26 batches, with some leftovers.

In fact, 26 batches require

26 \times 30 = 780

grams of salt, and the remaining

800-780=20

grams of salt are not enought to prepare the next batch

The baker should buy the package with 18kilograms which equals to 18,000 grams. 18,000/30 equals 600, while 800/30 equals 26 with leftovers

6,000 multiplied by power of 10
larisa86 [58]
An easy way of finding the answer to your question is by using a scientific calculator. When I plugged in 6,000^10 it gave me 6.0466176x10^37. Yes the answer is in scientific notation, but if you want the answer shortened out to the nearest hundredth place the answer is 6.05.
