Hello!

First of all let's look at points L and L'. The coordinates for L are (-5,-4) and the coordinates for L' are at (0,3).

First of all let's think about the vertical translation. This is the change in the y-axis. As you can see, the difference of 3 and -4 is 7. This means there was a vertical translation of 7, or it was moved up 7 units.

Now we have the horizontal translation, or the change in the x-axis. The difference of -5 and 0 is 5. Therefore it had a horizontal translation of 5.

(-5,-4)⇒(0,3) was translate up 7 units and translated right 5 units.

I hope this helps!

Find the domain and range of the graph
Rainbow [258]

Answer:

Domain: [-2,1)

Range: [0,4]

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Domain</u>

We can see that the piecewise function starts at x=-2, which is included, and ends at x=1, which isn't included. To represent the x-values that lie in between these two endpoints, you would write [-2,1). Brackets show that one endpoint is included while parentheses show that one endpoint isn't included.

<u>Range</u>

Following this logic, the range has its y-values go from 0 to 4 with both endpoints included if you were to trace the function. Thus, your range would be [0,4].

Use the given information to bound the p-value of the F statistic for a one-tailed test with the indicated degrees of freedom. F
lianna [129]

Answer:

The range of the <em>p</em>-value is: 0.050 < <em>p</em>-value < 0.100.

Step-by-step explanation:

For checking the equivalence of two population variances of independent samples, we use the <em>f</em>-test.

The test statistic is given by:

F=\frac{S_{1}^{2}}{S_{2}^{2}}\sim F_{\alpha, (n_{1}-1)(n_{2}-1)}

It is provided that the hypothesis test is one-tailed.

The computed value of the test statistic is:

<em>F</em> = 4.23.

The degrees of freedom of the numerator and denominator are:

df_{1}=4\\df_{2}=5

Use MS-Excel to compute the <em>p</em>-value as follows:

Step 1: Select function fX → F.DIST.RT.

Step 2: A dialog box will open. Enter the values of f-statistic and the two degrees of freedom.

*See the attachment below.

Step 3: Press OK.

The <em>p</em>-value is, 0.0728.

The range of the <em>p</em>-value is:

0.050 < <em>p</em>-value < 0.100
