We have been fractions and we are asked to simplify these fractions. Now let us start one by one.

1) 3 \frac{1}{2}+\frac{1}{8}\\

Upon changing mix fraction into improper fraction we will get \frac{7}{2}+\frac{1}{8}\\

In order to simplify our fraction we need to make our denominators same. To make our denominators same we will multiply our first fraction by 4.

\frac{7\cdot 4}{2\cdot 4}+\frac{1}{8}=\frac{28+1}{8}\\
=\frac{29}{8}

Since are options are mixed fractions we have to convert our answer into mixed fraction.

=\frac{29}{8}=3 \frac{5}{8}

Option D is correct.

2) 2 \frac{3}{4}+5 \frac{3}{5}\\

\frac{11}{4}+\frac{28}{5}

Now we will make both of our denominators same.

2 \frac{3}{4}+5\frac{3}{5}\\
\\
\frac{5\cdot 11}{5\cdot 4}+\frac{4\cdot 28}{4\cdot 5}\\
\\
\frac{55}{20}+\frac{112}{20}\\

\frac{167}{20}\\
\\
8 \frac{7}{20}

Therefore, correct choice is option (C).

Hope you can use these concepts to answer the rest of the questions :)

Answer:

x = 127°

Step-by-step explanation:

in each triangle, the value of each exterior angle is equal to the sum of its two non-adjacent interior angles..

47° + 80° = 127°

or

the third angle in the triangle:

180° - (47° + 80°) = 53°

exterior angle:

180° - 53° = 127°

Jim had some dimes, quarters, and nickels. First, he counted only the dimes and quarters and found that he had 9 coins. Then, he
Olegator [25]

Answer:

$1.90

Step-by-step explanation:

Represent the numbers of nickels, dimes and quarters by n, d and q.

Then: d + q = 9, or q = 9 - d.

Also, n + d = 10

Lastly, n + d + q = 15.

Let's substitute 9 - d for q in the equation immediately above:

n + d + (9 - d) = 15, or n + 9 = 15.  Then n must be 6.

In summary, Jim has 6 nickels, (10 - 6) dimes and (9 - 4) quarters, or:

                                    6 nickels, 4 dimes and 5 quarters

Thus, he has 5($0.05) + 4($0.10) + 5($0.25), or

                         $0.25   +   $0.40   + $1.25, or          $1.90
