The Cuban missile crisis was when Cuba threatened Florida that they were going to shoot missiles in the 1960s, as Florida was only 90 miles away. There were tensions between the communist island and capitalist United States. John F. Kennedy informed Americans about the missile's presence and said he would handle the problem with military if needed. Though, this catastrophe was avoided when Cuba and America negotiated.
