Answer:

It causes the reader to exult that life will ultimately triumph over death.

Explanation:

The poem "Death, be not proud" by John Donne is a poem that talks about the lack of power of Death. In this poem, the poet addresses Death, and it warns her about being too proud. He tells Death that she is not as powerful as she think she is, as she is at the whim of kings, fate, chance and desperate men. Moreover, Death cannot even hold people forever, as all people will eventually awaken again. The last couplet emphasizes this idea of  life eventually winning over death:

<em>"One short sleep past, we wake eternally </em>

<em>And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die."</em>

The lines that use caesura in this excerpt from Emily Dickinson's "Because I Could Not Stop for Death" are the following:

We passed the School, where Children strove At Recess—in the Ring— We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain— We passed the Setting Sun— Or rather

The use of caesura in this poem marks the pace of the reader and the I of the poem. The pace and the mood of the poem is calm due to these caesura, the pauses and she has no haste.
