William Shakespeare was an English writer who made a significant contribution not only to the English literature but to the world literature and culture in general due to his plays; and he is considered the greatest writer in the English language.

Shakespeare got his inspiration from ancient empires and kingdoms, such as <em>"Ancient Greek tragedies"</em>, the Roman Empire and the Kings of England; he also got inspired by some other authors such as Geoffrey Chaucer regarded as <em>"The Father of English literature"</em>, Arthur Brooke, William Painter and Geraldi Cinthio.
