Answer: Roman precinct walls

Explanation: The Great Mosque of Damascus was built by the Umayyad Caliph Al Walid. The Caliph selected a site that had previously been a temple, first to Hadad and then Jupiter Dolichhenus. The temple had a Roman design and when Al Walid demolished the temple, he left the Roman Precinct walls which gives it its distinct Greco-Roman architecture look. The walls formed the entry to the mosque and are still present in the mosque.

Why was egypt an early and attractive target for european takeover in the age of imperialism?
Delicious77 [7]
Egypt has always been a target for colonial control due to the Nile and the many trade routes flowing through and around it. The Nile allowed for easier access to the interior of Africa and the nations and resources that could be found within. The trade routes that flowed into and around Egypt also brought in great wealth and riches. By controlling these, a nation could gain access to resources that they could charge a premium for to others.

Digiron [165]

Answer:

A. Sparta never joined the league and resented Athens power and treatment of allies.

B. When some city-states tried to withdraw, Athens used force to keep them under control.

Explanation: Athens began to use the League's funds for its own purposes. This led tothe Peloponnesian War; and very soon the Leaugue disappeared  in 404 BC. The Spartans, on the other hand, tried to force the Athenians to give up the Delian League; Spartans were not enthusiastic about the membership and never joined it, detesting Athens's power.
