Martin is studying sucrase activity. He added sucrose solution + sucrase solution + buffer of pH 5.6 in two tubes. He incubated

them at 35°C and 100°C respectively. When he performed a confirmatory test, only the first test tube showed enzyme activity. How would you justify the inactivity of the enzyme in the second test tube?

I'm pretty sure that this is the correct answer "The enzymes in the second test tube must have denatured at 1000C, since most enzymes degrade at such high temperatures." that is if you're using Plato, in which case this would be one of your answer choices.

Answer:

Enzymes require specific temperature to perform

Explanation:

Enzymes require specific temperature to  activate itself and catalyse a reaction. An enzyme which is able to perform well at a temperature of 35 degree Celsius will not be able to perform in the similar manner at a temperature of 100 degree Celsius or vice Versa. An enzyme that is meant to get activated at lower temperature will get denatured at high temperature and thus will not be able to carry out its activity. While on the other hand an enzyme that  is meant to  operate at high temperature will not be able to get into activation mode at lower temperature.

How has technology been used to address issues to sewage
vfiekz [6]
The answer is A, as most sewage treatment plants use bacteria to break down and remove nutrients. The main water pollution problem caused by sewage effluent is eutrophication, related to the release of nutrients into rivers and lakes. Nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus ions result in high algal growth. Some algal blooms release toxins, and algal blooms also disrupt the natural dissolved oxygen concentration cycles. Fish kills are often because eutrophication has resulted in anoxic conditions.

Anyway, wastewater treatment plants utilise bacteria to facilitate nitrification or denitrification, which removes ammonia and nitrates/nitrites, respectively.

one gene in a population of snails determines whether they are poisonous. being poisonous (P) is dominant over not being poisono
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:

F (pp) = 0.04

F (Pp) = 0.32

F (PP) = 0.64

Explanation:

Studying population genetics, we used the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium model. In the case of snails, the H-W principle predicts that the total number of cases in the population should follow the following equation: PP + 2.Pp + pp = 200.

If a population has 200 snails and 8 are affected by a recessive condition, we have 4% affected, or 0.04.

This means that 0.04 corresponds to p², and p corresponds to 0.2.

Therefore, P is equal to 0.8 because p + P = 1.

Knowing the allele frequencies, we go to the frequency of the genotypes.

F (pp) = p² = 0.04 = 8 snails

F (Pp) = 2.Pp = 0.32 = 64 snails

F (PP) = P² = 0.64 = 128 snails
