➷ There are various disadvantages of cutting trees. Many animals use the trees are habitats - by cutting down trees, animal habitats are being destroyed. Also, trees proud oxygen via photosynthesis (oxygen is needed in humans for respiration.) Cutting down trees would decrease the amount of oxygen in the atmosphere. Furthermore, trees take in carbon dioxide for photosynthesis. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas which will contribute to the greenhouse effect - causing global warming which has disastrous consequences for the population. By cutting down trees, the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere will increase.

Trees play a large variety of vital roles in the Earth’s ecosystem, weather patterns, soil richness and air quality. The destruction of trees has been occurring for a long period of time for a variety of reasons–such as the need for lumber and the need for farmland. However, a lack of awareness of the importance of trees has led to much more disastrous consequences than the advantages of cutting them down.
