I would say that the correct sentence is (D).
answer (C) has the apostrophe in the wrong place, and in (B) the comma doesn't really break up the sentence properly. 'the shaggy brown,' doesn't make sense on its own. and in (A), there isn't any commas at all

It's none of the above and D) has a comma after brown. There's isn't supposed to be a comma there

andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer:

Rhyming couplet

Explanation:

A rhyming couplet is a pair of lines whose final words rhyme with one another, and that expresses a complete idea or message. William Shakespeare often used this poetic device at the end of his scenes, to sum up his work's main idea and to add a dramatic effect. Take a look at the following rhyming couplet found in Romeo and Juliet, one of Shakespeare's most famous plays:

"This precious book of love, this unbound lover,

To beautify him only lacks a cover."

Deffense [45]

Answer:

The condition of the room and its contents cause Mr. Utterson and Inspector Newcomen to plan a trip to the bank in hopes of catching Mr. Hyde.

Explanation:

Robert Louis Stevenson's "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" is about a good doctor and his monster alter ego that resulted in the struggle for existence between the two ultimately leading to the tragic death of the main character. The story deals with themes of good vs. evil, science, human nature, personality, etc.

The given excerpt shows the scene from Dr. Jekyll's house which has been ransacked. The place had been turned upside down, with all possible and visible signs of the person, Mr. Hyde, in search of something valuable. They also found a half-burned cheque book. The condition of the room was in such disarray that it prompted Mr. Utterson and Newcomen to go to the bank and try to catch Hyde in the act.

Thus, the correct answer is the first option.
