The Watergate scandal was a United States political scandal involving the administration of former U.S. President Richard Nixon from 1972 to 1974 which led to Nixon's resignation.

Some men broke into the office of the Democratic party before an election.and it was later found that Nixon was involved and he helped them cover up and might have hired the men.

Nixon later resigned and his vice who was President Ford later became president. When Ford became president, he attempted to move beyond the Watergate scandal and this got Americans angry.
