Hello, my name is Matt and I'll be your BrainGem helper today! The Mississippi River had lots of plantations near it. On Plantations there were dozens of slaves working. This was also were there was a large black community. I went to a planation 2 years ago. It was called the Oak Valley Plantation. (Just if you want to give it a Google). I hope that we at BrainGem can help you in the future!

Answer:

C). Value.

Explanation:

A claim of value involves a judgment or evaluation that primarily functions to prove a specific belief, situation, or conduct as either right or fallacious, worthy or insignificant.

The given excerpt exemplifies a 'claim of value' as it makes a deduction that 'citizens are required to vote' which is supported and justified reasonably through displaying the benefits of voting(i.e. 'it assists in electing more effective as well as thoughtful leaders...views'). Therefore, it justifies the above claim and hence, option C is the correct answer.

What probably motivates Mrs Hamilton to behave in such a manner toward the slaves
AnnyKZ [126]
If Mrs Hamilton is upper class she would see the slaves as peasants in a way. as I do not know what the slaves may look like, if they are black you could talk about racism and the fact that in the 1950s segregation was a huge issue. blacks were used to do chores for the whites.
hope this helps in some way
