The Bessemer process was a new innovation in the 2nd industrial revolution in the U.S. It was a way of producing a lot of steel in a shorter amount of time. This made steel a huge industry in the Northeast especially. Also, steel was cheaper and of better quality. Railroads were built with this steel to. The U.S economy increased because of the use of the railroad.
