Answer:

a punnett square shows the probability that the parents off spring will have a certain phenotype be cross the parents two genotypes

further Explanation:

so a punnett square take two parents and crosses them to calculate the chance you will get a certain phenotype by drawing a square and splitting it into four quarter you take the dads two genotypes and put them on the top of the square and you put the moms on the side now that you have the parents genotypes labeled you cross them the letters are there alleles so if you have a upper case allele then it is dominant meaning the offspring get the dominant trait (phenotype) now if you have two lower case letters then the offspring get the non-dominant trait (phenotype) so Bb is gets a dominant trait BB is a dominant trait but bb is a non dominant trait the way you cross them is say you have BBxbb here's what the chart will look like

    B B

b Bb Bb

b Bb Bb

i hoped this helped if it di please give me brainlest

How do we know that height in humans is a polygenic trait?
Elena-2011 [213]
We know that height in humans is a polygenic trait because it has a lot of variation. The height gene is controlled by at minimum three genes with six different alleles. If all of these alleles are dominant for the tall gene you will be tall if you are dominant for the short gene you will be short if there is no clear dominance between the two genes you will fall somewhere in the middle.

If you have a heterozygous yellow-seed plant (Yy), the probability of forming a "Y" gamete is blank. The probability of forming
hram777 [196]

Answer:

The probability of forming a "Y" gamete is 50%. The probability of forming a "y" gamete is 50%.

Explanation:

Mendel was an Austrian monk whose findings led to make the foundation of genetics. Hence, Mendel is known as the father of genetics. He formulated two laws based on the researches he made:

  • Law of segregation
  • Law of independent assortment

According to the law of segregation, alleles segregate independently at the time of gamete formation. There is an equal chance for a gamete to carry the dominant or the recessive allele.

Hence, the probability of a gamete carrying a 'Y' or a 'y" allele will be 50% each.
