Answer:

Some Chinese officials believed that the opium trade would benefit the Chinese more because the British were infatuated with Chinese silks and tea. Arguing that trade connections were necessary, these officials advocated the import of opium. However, they were simply interested in their own individual profits.

Answer:  Initially, the Qing wouldn't accept trade goods for the highly sought after Chinese porcelain and tea;they would only take cash in exchange. Later, the British introduced opium into China, which merchants would accept.

Explanation:

Opium trade, in Chinese history, the traffic that developed in the 18th and 19th centuries in which Western countries, mostly Great Britain, exported opium grown in India and sold it to China. The British used the profits from the sale of opium to purchase such Chinese luxury goods as porcelain, silk, and tea, which were in great demand in the West.

What relationship did the Slavs have with the Vikings
weeeeeb [17]

Answer:

The Slavs invited the Viking chief Rurik to be their king and the line between Slavs and Vikings vanished.

Explanation:

In 862, he founded Novgorod, Russia's first important city. Around 880, a nobleman from Novgorod named Oleg moved south to Kiev, a city on the Dnieper River. From Kiev, the Vikings could sail by river and sea to Constantinople. There they could trade for products from distant lands. Kiev grew into a principality, a small state ruled by a prince. As it did, the Viking nobles intermarried with their Slavic subjects and adopted many aspects of Slavic culture.

I'm having a hard time paying attention while reading for history
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]
Some people find it helpful to move around while they read. Speak out loud as well, it will force your mind stay on track. Fidget some, get a fidget idem or just move some part of your bod, this especially helps when you are in school and do not have time for breaks. You can try changing positions every so often. Do not try to work all at once either, read in short burst and take a break to think about what you read. Keep distracting things out of your line of sight. It might also help to change the subject material once and a while.
I hope this is a little bit helpful :)
