He will need 16 cups cashews and 12 cups of almonds to make 28 cups of the mixture

Step-by-step explanation:

Mike is making a nut mixture for an upcoming camping trip

  • He makes the mixture by combining \frac{1}{3} of a cup of cashews and \frac{1}{4} of a cup of almonds
  • He wants to add cashews and almonds in the same ratio to make 28 cups of the mixture

We want to find how many cups of cashews and almonds he will need

∵ He combined \frac{1}{3} cup of cashews with \frac{1}{4}

  cup of almonds to make the mixture

∴ The ratio of cashews to almonds = \frac{1}{3} : \frac{1}{4}

- Multiply the both terms of the ratio by 12 which is the lowest

  common multiple of 3 and 4

∵ \frac{1}{3} × 12 = 4

∵ \frac{1}{4} × 12 = 3

∴ The ratio of cashews to almonds = 4 : 3

∵ He wants to make 28 cups of the mixture at the same ratio

By using the ratio method

→  Cashews  :  almonds  :  mixture

→  4               :  3               :  7 ⇒ (4 + 3)

→  x               :  y                :  28

By using cross multiplication

∴ x × 7 = 4 × 28

∴ 7 x = 112

- Divide both sides by 7

∴ x = 16

∴ y × 7 = 3 × 28

∴ 7 y = 84

- Divide both sides by 7

∴ y = 12

He will need 16 cups of cashews and 12 cups of almonds to make 28 cups of the mixture

Find the simple interest earned on $2600 invested for 3 years at 12% per annum
Aleks04 [339]

Answer:

$936

Step-by-step explanation:

Simple interest is money you can earn by initially investing some money (a.k.a the principal). In return, a percentage (a.k.a the interest) of the initial money invested is added to the principal, this is what makes your initial investment grow.

The equation for simple interest is:

I = P x r x t

P = Principal, $2600

r = interest rate, 12%

t = time involved, 3 years

Fill in the values:

2600 × 0.12 × 3 = $936.00

Sofia is comparing celluer plans. Company A charges a flat fee of 59.99 a month and .43 additional minutes. Company B charges 69
Vsevolod [243]

Answer: it will take 125 additional minutes for both costs to be equal.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let a represent the number of additional minutes that it will it take for the two to be the same.

Company A charges a flat fee of 59.99 a month and .43 additional minutes. This means that the total cost of a additional units would be

0.43x + 59.99

Company B charges 69.99 a month and .35 for additional minutes. This means that the total cost of a additional units would be

0.35x + 69.99

For the cost of the two plans to be the same, it means that

0.43x + 59.99 = 0.35x + 69.99

0.43x - 0.35x = 69.99 - 59.99

0.08x = 10

x = 125

The number of entrees purchased in a single order at a Noodles & Company restaurant has had an historical average of 1.35 en
trasher [3.6K]

Answer:

a) 0.3571

b) The p-value is 0.362007.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

Population mean, μ = 1.35

Sample mean, \bar{x} = 1.4

Sample size, n = 26

Alpha, α = 0.01

Sample standard deviation, s = 0.7

First, we design the null and the alternate hypothesis

H_{0}: \mu = 1.35\text{ entrees per order}\\H_A: \mu > 1.35\text{ entrees per order}

We use One-tailed t test to perform this hypothesis.

a) Formula:

t_{stat} = \displaystyle\frac{\bar{x} - \mu}{\frac{s}{\sqrt{n-1}} }

Putting all the values, we have

t_{stat} = \displaystyle\frac{1.4 - 1.35}{\frac{0.7}{\sqrt{25}} } = 0.3571

b) The p-value at t-statistic 0.3571 and degree of freedom 25 is 0.362007.

The equation y = 7x+25 gives the number of minutes it takes to prepare a meal y given the number of people being served x. Which
klemol [59]

<u>Answer-</u> C. For every extra person served, the time it takes to prepare a meal increases by 7  minutes.

<u>Solution- </u>

<em>y = 7x+25</em>

Where y = the number of minutes it takes to prepare a meal

           x = the number of people being served.

If the number of persons increased by one, so x' = (x+1)

Then y' = 7x' + 25 = 7(x+1) + 25 = 7x + 7 + 25 = 7x + 25 + 7 = y + 7

∴ As y gets increased by 7 for every 1 more person , so C is the correct answer.
