Reflect on Genesis 3:1-15 (specifically verse 15) and Revelation 20:10. In no less than 250 words, describe what these passages
Ksju [112]

Answer:

The seed refers to Jesus Christ, a future generation born from the woman.

His coming will help save humanity from eternal dam nation and provide a passageway for man to rebuild his lost relationship with God.

The hope that Jesus Christ offers us is the hope of a second chance, a new start to living the life that God wants us to live and also a chance to be able to have eternal life in God even after we die.

Explanation:

In Genesis, we find the deception of man and the curse that God pronounced on both man and the serpent. He mentioned specifically that the generations from the woman and the generations of the serpent will be at loggerheads and will remain so till the end of time. The act of partaking the forbidden fruit led to a fractured/ broken and irreparable damage to the relationship of God and man. Here, the seed of the woman refers to the Jesus, the future King who will come to earth to help save the world and fight the devil. And in Revelations 20:10, we see the punishment that God pronounced on the devil, which is the serpent from Genesis, "thrown into the lake of burning sulfur", suffering for eternity.

So, the coming of "the seed" will mend the broken relationship between God and man and help heal the rift. Mankind that was already 'cursed' and 'exiled' from God's presence can get another chance at having a relationship with God again. The promised seed, which is Jesus Christ, will come in the human world and save everyone in need, giving up His life in exchange for the lives of all humanity and thus, pave the way for our eternal life in God. This is the hope that we are given, the second chance at rebuilding our relationship with God our Father and also a chance to have eternal life with Him in heaven. With the sacrificial lamb of Jesus Christ on the Cross, all of our sins, humanity's sins are cleansed so that we may have the right to be with God again in the afterlife.
