The first two notes are a leap this is because is doesn't go from B-first note to a E-second note.
The second and third notes are a leap because it goes from a E-second note to a D-third note.
It doesn't skip a line or a space.

Read the excerpt from Heart of a Samurai.

Answer:

D. the snail’s path

Explanation:

In the passage, the author describes the path of the snail in the most precise details. He describes the glimmering of the path (shiny ribbon) and the way it is traced on the surface of the sand. He uses the most detailed and descriptive words when talking about the path itself.

He uses this to proves to the reader how clear the water is, to show in what little details the path can be seen through the water. Yet, the most precise words are used for the path itself, and not the water.
