America's refusal to join World War II as of January 1941 shows President Franklin D. Roosevelt's dedication to American military neutrality. At this time, however, the United States is somewhat involved with this war thanks to the Lend Lease Act. This act allowed the US to let countries that were part of the Allied powers (such as China, Great Britain, France) borrow/buy weapons and technology.

However, despite this help, the US refused to give any troops and refused to be involved in any battles. This all changed with the bombing of Pearl Harbor on December  7th 1941.
