That would depend...

-4 / -2 = 2........4 / 2 = 2 <== if the signs are the same
but
4 / -2 = -2.......-4 / 2 = -2 <== if the signs are different

So basically, if the signs are the same, the result is positive and if the signs are different, the result is negative

The data show prices of light bulbs at a home improvement store, rounded to the nearest dollar. Find the interquartile range (IQ
Yuliya22 [10]

Answer:

The interquartile range (IQR) of the data set is 8.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The data show prices of light bulbs at a home improvement store, rounded to the nearest dollar.

5, 2, 8, 10, 2, 20, 6, 15, 29, 6, 2, 2, 5, 1, 3.

Now, to find the interquartile range (IQR) of the data set.

So, we arrange first in orders:

1,2,2,2,2,3,5,5,6,6,8,10,15,20,29.

Now, to get the median:

1,2,2,2,2,3,5,5,6,6,8,10,15,20,29.

5 is the median.

So, to get the IQR we need to get the Q1 (median of the first half) and Q3 (median of the second half):

Q1 = 1,2,2,2,2,3,5, 5,6,6,8,10,15,20,29

Q1 = 2.

Q3 = 1,2,2,2,2,3,5,5 ,6,6,8,10,15,20,29

Q3 = 10.

Now, to calculate the IQR:

IQR = Q3-Q1

IQR=10-2

IQR=8.

Therefore, the interquartile range (IQR) of the data set is 8.

In the space below, provide the larger of the two positive integers that add to 10 and have the largest possible product.
aleksklad [387]

Answer:

 5

Step-by-step explanation:

The integers 5 and 5 sum to 10 and have the largest possible product.

___

The two numbers will be x and (10-x). Their product is x(10-x), which describes a downward-opening parabola with zeros at x=0 and x=10. The maximum (vertex) of that parabola is halfway between the zeros, at x=5. Both integers have the same value: 5. Their product is 25.

If there is a requirement the integers be distinct, then 6 and 4 are the integers of choice. Their product is 24.
