The Biblical worldview of the Renaissance was magical, demons and witches, full of signs which could only be deciphered by cabalists and astrologers. The 1700 's world was transforming from magical to mysterious in nature. For example, demons and witches were shunned; the rainbow was scientific proof of light refraction and not approve from God, etc. The Scientific Revolution, which started during the seventeenth century, was a stimulus for a new mindset, one that penetrated every aspect of human society and focuses entirely on humanity rather than on supernatural gods for the worldly questions.
