Answer: Adi is the protagonist of the work because the whole story revolves around him, who along with his roommate named August live this experience in the city of Vienna.

Explanation: Adi is a young man of 19 years, looks sickly, dresses badly but wants to be an artist and is discouraged by not being admitted to the Letters Academy despite having applied several times and not let him take the exam because they tell him he has no talent . For this reason he feels unsuccessful and without a future.

I don’t know this for sure but I think it’s man vs society if it’s wrong I’m sorry I think this because he can’t get a job and job has to do with society right so if he can’t get a job during the Great Depression which was something that effected the society. So I’m thinking it’s man vs society
