When Bostein clearly stated that ' the rules of high school turn out not to be the rules of life ' he apparently meant that the social-scale in a stereotypical high school is considered fake and has no purpose whatsoever in the outside world. Meaning that appearance and athletic status will not apply or be necessary to any sort of work in the 'real world'.

Locate the complete verbal phrase in the following sentence. Crossing the street on a red light not only is dangerous but also i
Keith_Richards [23]

Answer:

Type of Verbal: Gerund phrase

Verbal Phrase: Crossing the street on a red light

Explanation:

A gerund phrase is a verbal phrase that consists of a gerund (which it's made up of the verb root of a verb + -ing) and modifiers of that object, and sometimes, it also includes objects. The primary function of this type of phrases is to act as a noun, therefore they can be subjects, objects or complements.

In the sentence, "Crossing the street on a red light" is the gerund phrase because it has a gerund (Crossing), an object (the street) and modifiers ( on a red light). Furthermore, it is also the subject of the sentence because it is what's being described.

What does lenore symbolize in the raven by edgar allen poe?
jeyben [28]
In literature a symbol can be subtle or obvious. In 'The Raven' the symbol is obvious. Poe himself meant the Raven to symbolize 'mournful, never-ending remembrance.' Our narrator's sorrow for his lost, perfect maiden Lenore is the driving force behind his conversation with the Raven
