There are many major effects of the printing press. The printing press had dramatic effects on European civilization. Its immediate effect was that it spread information quickly and accurately. This helped create a wider literate reading public. Also, in the old days, people didn't have a TV or a phone to chack what was going on. So when the printing press was created, the people in the old days could spread news more easily, were able to post news in the street.
