The correct answer is A. Although the Northwest Ordinance of 1787 only dealt with the area north of the Ohio river, it influenced U.S. expansion in other areas by establishing procedures for how new states could be admitted to the Union.

The Northwest Order was unanimously approved on July 13, 1787. The main effect of the ordinance was the creation of the Northwest Territory as the first organized territory of the United States of the region south of the Great Lakes north and west of the Ohio River, and east of the Mississippi River.

Possibly the most important legislation that was passed by the members of the Continental Congress apart from the Declaration of Independence, it established the precedence by which the United States expanded westward through North America by the admission of new states rather than by the expansion of existing states. The prohibition of slavery in the territory made the Ohio River the border between the free territories and the slave territories around the Appalachians and the Mississippi River.

In 1854, the Missouri Compromise was repealed by the Kansas-Nebraska Act. Three years later the Missouri Compromise was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in the Dred Scott decision, which ruled that Congress did not have the authority to prohibit slavery in the territories.

How was Nixon's Vietnamization different from Johnson's Americanization of the war?
amm1812
Use of ground troops: Americanization used US ground troops to fight the war whereas Vietnamization used S.Vietnamese ground troops to fight the war.

Johnson moved the US from an aid and financial backer to a ground force with men in active duty on the front lines in addition to naval and air support. Nixon's policy removed the ground troops, leaving the S. Vietnamese to fight that on their own (with our aid and money) but continued our air strikes and naval support.

Napoleon created all of the following, EXCEPT
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:

The answer is A. A new system for paving roads, which allowed his troops to move faster.

Explanation:

In 1796 a new governing body, the Directory, made Napoleon the commander of the French army in Italy, which was then fighting the Austrians and their allies. The Italian campaign showed Napoleon’s military genius. He bewildered his enemies with his rapid movements, and he eventually carried the war into Austria itself and had advanced to within 80 miles of Vienna when the enemy surrendered. He concluded the Treaty of Campo Formio, which gave France more territory. After a failed invasion of Egypt, he returned to France, where the political situation had become unstable. The Directory had lost its popularity among the people, and Napoleon saw an opportunity for self-advancement. In November 1799, he joined in a coup that overthrew the Directory. In its place, a government called the Consulate was set up and had Napoleon as the first of the three consuls.

Within three years, Napoleon was made first consul for life. He instituted reforms in post-revolutionary France, starting with a complete overhaul of military training. He also centralized the government, reorganized the banking and educational systems, supported the arts, and improved relations between France and the pope. His most significant achievement was the Napoleonic Code, which streamlined the French legal system. Continued political opposition from royalists and others soon convinced Napoleon that the best way to discourage conspiracies against him would be to transform the life consulate into a hereditary empire. On May 18, 1804, the French empire was proclaimed, and Napoleon was consecrated emperor of France by Pope Pius VII in the Notre Dame Cathedral on December 2.
