Answer:

Explanation:

Enzymes are biological catalysts; catalysts are substances that increase the rate of chemical reactions without being used up (BBC, 2010), without these catalysts it would take an extremely long time for these reactions to take place. The enzyme used in this particular experiment was pepsin; pepsin is a zymogen of pepsinogen. Pepsinogen is activated by hydrochloric acid, which is released from parietal cells in the stomach lining. The hormone gastrin and the vagus nerve trigger the release of both pepsinogen and hydrochloric acid from the stomach lining when food is ingested. Hydrochloric acid creates an acidic environment, which allows pepsinogen to unfold and cleave itself in an autocatalytic fashion, generating pepsin. (Life Science Network, 2010)

A lot can be learnt about enzymes by studying the rate of enzyme catalyzed reactions, these rates of reaction can be studied in various ways. In this experiment, using a range of different temperatures, the enzyme pepsin will be mixed with egg albumen. This is high in protein and bound to the dye Coomassie blue to gain a light absorbance reading using a spectrophotometer and in effect see how much protein has been digested by the pepsin.

What are the most numerous cells in the lungs?
Umnica [9.8K]
The most numerous cells in the lungs are dust cells, also known by their scientific term of alveolar marcrophages.
These cells are located in any person's lungs and are responsible for keeping your lungs and air pipes clean of any dust particles and other materials that may harm your body. Their role is to destroy any foreign substances, such as bacteria and others.

The lifetime of an intracellular signaling molecule must be short for the cell to be able to cause a change in the concentration
ivann1987 [24]

Answer:

Statement B is false.

Explanation:

PKA and PKG is both have binding domains to attach with nucleoside monophosphate and help in modulating these enzymes that explains that PKA is more related to the PKG than PKC at the level of amino acid.

At the level of  polypeptide chain level PKG has single polypeptide chain whereas in PKA modulatory domains are located on different poly peptide chain. Both are activated by the nucluoside triphosphate, more precisely PKA by cAMP and PKG is by cGMP respectively, whereas PKC is activated by DAG or Ca or both depending on the isofom.

Thus, the correct answer is - option B.
