The only incorrect answer is d. within very short spans of time.

In his Theory of Evolution, Darwin noted three patterns of biodiversity:
1. Species vary globally - different, but ecologically similar animal species inhabit separate habitats around the Globe, but again, these habitats are ecologically similar.
2. Species vary locally - different animal species that are related to each other, may occupy different habitats in an area not so far away.
3. Species vary over time - some traits become more common, other less common.

Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line that passes through the given point and is parallel to the given
alexandr402 [8]

Use the slope-intercept form to find the slope.

Tap for fewer steps...

The slope-intercept form is

y = m x + b

where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

y = m x + b

Using the slope-intercept form the slope is

− 4 . m = − 4

To find an equation that is parallel to

y = − 4 x + 2

the slopes must be equal. Using the slope of the equation, find the parallel line using the point-slope formula.

( − 2 , 5 ) m = − 4

Using the point-slope form

y − y 1 = m ( x − x 1 )

plug in

m = − 4 , x 1 = − 2

and

y 1 = 5 . y − ( 5 ) = ( − 4 ) ( x − ( − 2 ) )

Solve for

y .

Multiply

− 1 by 5 . y − 5 = ( − 4 ) ( x − ( − 2 ) )

Simplify

( − 4 ) ( x − ( − 2 ) ) .

Multiply

− 1 by − 2 . y − 5 = − 4 ( x + 2 )

Apply the distributive property.

y − 5 = − 4 x − 4 ⋅ 2

Multiply − 4 by 2 . y − 5 = − 4 x − 8

Move all terms not containing

y to the right side of the equation.

Add

5

to both sides of the equation.

y = − 4 x − 8 + 5 Add − 8 and 5 . y = − 4 x − 3

HOPE THIS HELPED!

Which of the following describes the structure and function of the cell membrane?
mamaluj [8]

Answer:

A. The hydrophilic head groups of the lipid molecules are exposed to the outside of the cell and the cytoplasm, which is a water-like environment. The hydrophobic tails form an oily layer inside the membrane that keeps water out of the cell

Describe how the chemical and physical properties of water make it a key molecule influencing all spheres on Earth.
Novay_Z [31]

Answer:

Chemical properties of water are neutral pH and weak ionization while physical properties of water are that it is present in solid , liquid and gas form and it is a tasteless and odorless molecule.

Explanation:

Water is also called universal solvent due to its polar nature. Water has a neutral pH when it is present in pure form but with the addition of salts and other impurities, pH of water changes. Water has weak ionization rate. Water is present in liquid form at room temperature but increasing in temperature , they transform in gaseous state.. Water is a taste less molecule and having no odor or smell.
