Ok..i have a few questions about Shakespeare's play Macbeth if anyone is willing to answer, I just need this for an essay I'm wr
iting.
1.) Was the Dagger that appeared before Macbeth an illusion of his mind, or was it an illusion placed there by the witches?
2.) How drastically would you say the witches had their own hand in Macbeth's fate?
3.) Personally, I feel that the witches knew Macbeth was descending rapidly into madness, and they took advantage of it...what is your opinion?
4.) We all know that Macbeth loved Duncan, yet he was still willing to kill him based off of a hallucination of a dagger, why do you think that was?
5.) Do you think Macbeth killed duncan for his own purposes, or did he do it because he felt like him killing a man he loved dearly was inevitable??
1 answer:
Answer:
1.) The dagger was meant to symbolize fate so yes it was an illusion of his mind beacuse of his guilty conscience.
2.) I would say it wasn't too drastic because they did suggest that he'd become king but he chose to listen to them and complete his fate.
3.) I would say thats a fair statement.
4.) His own desires to become king overcame his love for Duncan so much to the degree that he killed him.
5.) I think Macbeth killed Duncan on his own desires to become king and please his wife.
A LOT of questions haha but hopefully this helps :)
