Why does the creature stay so long by the abandoned fire pit he found? Then why does he leave it? Why does he “lament” having to
Citrus2011 [14]
I assume you are referring to Chapter 11 of "Frankenstein". The creature stays so long by the fire pit because he had never seen fire before, and it is a great relief to him to finally get warm. He examines the fire, finds out that it burns when touched, realizes that it is made of wood, and that the roots which he eats taste much better when roasted. He does his best to maintain the fire, but he has to leave it in search of food. Finally, when he leaves it, he "laments" because he doesn't know how to make fire again.

Read the following prompt and type your response in the space provided. Think about the short story "Raymond's Run." Which point
Igoryamba
"Raymond's Run" is written in the first person point of view. You know this because the narrator, Squeaky, uses the word "I" and describes the action as she sees it.

This helps give the reader a better sense of character, plot, and theme because she leads the reader through the story. She tells you exactly what she thinks of each character she comes across, and the story follows her through her day and through her actions which help keep track of the plot.

Hatshy [7]

Answer:

<u>"Andre's heart sank. While he had been painting Mrs. Robinson's kitchen, someone else had casually driven off with his car. All his hard work had  been for nothing."</u>

Explanation:

<em>Remember, </em>the use of reflection to develop a narrative by an author often involves mentioning occurrences that led to a change of events.

In this instance, <em>reflecting </em>on the fact that Andre was painting Mrs. Robinson's kitchen, resulted in him unable to purchase the car he had in mind initially, thus, adding this detail leads to further development of the narrative.
