The interactionist perspective does not focus on the study of competition and change. It is a micro-level perspective, which means it focuses on small-scale interactions between people, it can study communication or interpretation patterns, amongst other aspects that take place in face-to-face interactions.
Perspectives such as the conflict theory, that focus on social change, are macro-level theories.
