The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is an example of providing for the common defense today.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is an agency established by the US Department of Homeland Security in November 2011 in reaction to the terrorist attacks of 11 September to protect the whole transportation system of the nation to ensure the free movement of citizens and goods.

This agency is greatly concerned with air travel, therefore the TSA employs screening officers in airports, and armed Federal Air Marshals on planes.
