Athenian direct democracy was different than American representative democracy by:

B. Athenian direct democracy allowed all free male citizens to make policy and American representative does not.

D. American representative democracy allows citizens to elect leaders to shape laws and Athenian direct democracy did not.

The Athenian leader introduced a system of political reforms called Demokratia. The three separate institutions are:

 1. A sovereign governing body- that wrote laws and dictated foreign policy.
 2. A council of representatives- from the ten Athenian tribes.
 3. The popular courts- in which citizens argued cases before a group of lottery-selected jurors.

Out of all Athenian citizens, only male citizens who were older than 18 could participate in the democratic process.

The democratic ideals and processes did not survive in ancient Greece, rather influenced politicians and governments.

DENIUS [597]

Answer: B. Spending would cause the economy to grow.

Explanation:

To build a new highway, the government would have to spend money. Government spending is one of the main determinants of economic growth because it pumps money into the economy.

This will bring jobs to the country (for instance construction labor and engineers) which would increase the income of those people. Those people will then have more money to spend on goods and services thereby leading to economic growth.
