Answer:

The connection that the author draws between  resiliency and struggle is that people who are resilient are able to power through  the struggles they face. The right option is D.

Explanation:

Resilience is all about approaching the reality with bravery along with a sense of possibility. It is about looking for meaning in the challenges a person faces.  The author says that a person prepares himself/herself to take action in ways which allow him/her to hold on and survive hardships of various levels. This person is thus, able to  power through  his/her struggles. The author also mentions that not everyone is able to do the same that is, be resilient in times of struggles.

Lines 186–207: What words or phrases describe places, events,
Tju [1.3M]

Answer and Explanation:

1. cold hard land, full of savages, and death

2. The words shown above and written in "Of Plymouth Plantation" convey a feeling of difficulties and trials, which well reflects the life of the first English pilgrims in North America. With just those words, we can see that agriculture and food was difficult, which caused many deaths, in addition, we can see that the pilgrims were constantly afraid of the natives, who they saw as savages. This gives the reader a feeling of anguish, difficulty and trial.

3. Bradford's purpose was to show how difficult it was to settle on the American continent, but that the pilgrims were persistent and even in the midst of anguish, fear and suffering, endeavored to make this land their new home.

Can anyone help me paraphrase these two lines from this poem
Murljashka [212]
Sure.

I'm a runaway slave. Dogs chase and bite me.
I'm sad and scared. Men with guns shoot at me.
I cut myself on the fence.
I trip on rocks and weeds.
Men on horses chase me.
They yell and hit me.

It is night. I am bleeding. They watch quietly.
I don't hurt anymore. It is ok.
White men take off their masks to watch.
Things are going dark as I die.

Analysis. Although the details of the story are there, the art, the poetry is lost.
Part of the beauty of poetry is leaving it to the reader to understand what the poet is saying without directly saying it.
The paraphrase is simply a story, but the poem is art.
